IND vs SA Test: Rabada has dismissed Rohit Sharma for a duck four times, two of which occurred in T20 matches as well. Rohit Sharma’s record against South African fast bowler Kagiso Rabada is quite embarrassing.
Rabada has managed to get Rohit out for a duck fourth time in international cricket. In the second innings of the first Test match of the series SA vs IND, Rohit was out without making any trouble to the scoreboard, and Rabada was the bowler who sent him back to Pavillion.
This makes Rabada the first bowler in the world to dismiss Rohit Sharma for a duck in all three formats of the game of cricket. In the second innings of the Centurion Test match, Rohit was bowled clean by Rabada without scoring off eight balls.
Kagiso Rabada vs Rohit Sharma four times duck
1. The first time Rabada dismissed Rohit was in 2018 when he got him out for a duck in a One Day International match played in Cape Town on February 7th. Rohit was caught by the wicketkeeper Heinrich Klaasen in that match. However, India won the game by 124 runs, and captain Virat Kohli scored 160 runs.
2. In 2022, Rohit Sharma was again out for a duck in a T20 International match against Rabada. In that match, Rohit was caught by wicketkeeper Quinton de Kock off Rabada’s bowling, who took two wickets in that match. But India won that match as well, securing a victory by eight wickets. Suryakumar Yadav and KL Rahul contributed by scoring fifty each significantly.
3. Later in the same year i.e. 2022, Rabada dismissed Rohit for a duck in a T20 International once again, and this time India had to face a defeat of 49 runs in that match. Rabada cleaned him bowled in that game.
4. Now, in the ongoing Test series, Rabada once again did not let Rohit open his account and sent him back to sit and watch how team India was trailing 0-1 in the two-match Test series.
Team India has never won a Test series in South Africa so far, and it seems that this dream will not come true this time as well.
