The Afghanistan cricket team has been out of the ongoing Asia Cup 2023 after losing the thrilling match against Sri Lanka by two runs on 5 September. In fact, Afghanistan spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman has completed 150 wickets in international cricket, becoming the fourth player from his country to achieve this feat. Mujeeb achieved this feat against Sri Lanka by taking one wicket for 60 runs in his 10 overs. During his innings, Nabi became the fastest cricketer to score a half-century for Afghanistan in the history of ODI cricket.

He also became the highest run-scorer for Afghanistan in international cricket, followed by Mohammad Shahzad (4,811 in 156 matches) and Asghar Afghan (4,246 in 195 matches). Nabi now has 5,011 runs in 259 international matches at a strike rate of 99.22 and an average of 24.56. He has scored one century and 21 half-centuries in 238 innings, and his best score is 116.
