Jaffna Kings started their campaign with a resounding 21-run win. Meanwhile, Babar Azam appeared in the limelight with his jersey. Babar Azam is representing the Colombo Strikers in the tournament. But when Babar Azam came on the field to play, he did not have this logo on his jersey and helmet.
Actually, the Pakistani captain has refused to wear the jersey with the logo of Indian batting company 1xbook, citing the religion of Islam. They say it is against the principles of Islam. However, his decision did not go down well with the Indian fans and they trolled Babar Azam a lot. Babar scored only 7 runs in 8 balls in this match and got out.

Babar is not in favour of betting

If reports are to be believed then Babar Azam is not a supporter of betting. Betting is illegal in Pakistan and Babar Azam does not want to promote it. He considers it un-Islamic. For this reason, he was not ready to have the logo of the Indian betting company on his jersey. He had already told the franchise about this.

Fans called it hypocrisy

Fans say that Babar is not promoting betting in Lanka Premier League, but his country and board pay him a salary by earning from this.

Babar Azam may have to pay a fine

The captain of the Pakistan team has refused to wear the jersey promoting 1XBook, citing Islam. For which they may also have to pay a heavy fine. Because such companies have an agreement with the franchisees. That every one of their players will wear this sponsor’s jersey as well.
