ASIA CUP: KL Rahul is fully fit, but including him in the playing XI against Pakistan right now can be a big risk for India.

Asia Cup, India vs Pakistan Super 4: The Indian team has to play its first match against Pakistan in the Super Four match of Asia Cup 2023. This match will be played on Sunday 10 September. The India-Pakistan match in the league match could not be completed due to rain and there was no result in this match. Now once again both the teams will face each other in Super 4 in Colombo.

It is not going to be easy for Team India to defeat World Cup number one ODI team Pakistan because Babar Azam’s team is performing well in every department. The batsmen and bowlers of this team have performed well in every match played in the Asia Cup. At the same time, we saw how India’s top-order batsmen completely faltered in front of Pakistan’s bowling in the league match. It must be good for Ishan Kishan and Hardik Pandya who took charge of the innings.

Ishan Kishan or KL Rahul, who will get the chance?

Well, the best thing for Team India is that KL Rahul is completely fit and he has reached Sri Lanka where he is also practicing with the team. KL Rahul is currently the main wicketkeeper-batsman of Team India, but when Ishan Kishan was given a chance in his place, he performed brilliantly and is in good form. Ishan Kishan had also performed well on the West Indies tour and then he also played an important inning of 82 runs in the IND vs PAK league match, that too when batsmen like Kohli, Rohit, Shreyas, and Gill had failed.

Now it is being discussed that when KL Rahul is completely fit, will he get a chance the play eleven of the team in the first match of the Super Four against Pakistan? There is no doubt that KL Rahul has performed well as a wicketkeeper-batsman at number five, but he has just made a quick comeback from his injury. At the same time, he is not completely adapted to Sri Lankan conditions, as well as he has not played any big match before the match against Pakistan. In such a situation, no one can guarantee that he will perform well against the world’s number-one team. We saw that Shreyas also made a comeback against Pakistan, but he could not play a big innings. If this happens with KL too, then Team India can suffer a big loss.

If KL Rahul is kept in the playing eleven against Pakistan, then perhaps Ishan Kishan will have to be out of the team. But would it be the right decision to drop an informed batsman who is continuously scoring runs from the team? The kind of form Ishan is in, he has the power to turn the match at any time. On the other hand, if KL is also set in the playing XI along with Ishan, then you will have to reduce one bowler and this decision is hardly suitable considering the batting lineup of Pakistan. In such a situation, there is only one option here for the time being, KL Rahul should not be made a part of the playing XI and the set team should be taken on the field with the same because if there is a single mistake against Pakistan they are a team that can snatch the match from you.
