Imad Wasim Retirement: Just 4 days after the end of World Cup 2023, Pakistan's star cricketer Imad Wasim has announced his retirement from international cricket. Imad Wasim announced his retirement through social media on Friday.

The journey of the Pakistan cricket team under the captaincy of Babar Azam in the ODI World Cup 2023 ended in the group stage itself. And just after this tournament ended on 19th November, i.e. on 24th November, the 34-year-old all-rounder of this team, Imad Wasim, announced his retirement from international cricket.

Imad was out of the team for a long time. He was also not a part of the recently concluded ODI World Cup. At the same time, he also had differences with the players of the Pakistan cricket team. Announcing his retirement on social media, Imad said that he had been thinking about his international cricket career for a long time, and according to him, this is the right time to make a decision on it.

Imad Wasim played for the Pakistan cricket team for 8 years and during this, he represented the team in ODI and T20. He did not get a chance to play Test matches for Pakistan during his cricket career. Imad Wasim played the role of all-rounder in the team and he also used to bat with his left hand and bowl spin with his left hand.

Imad has scored 986 runs in 55 ODI matches for Pakistan at an average of 42.86. He has 5 half-centuries to his name in ODIs and 486 runs to his name in 66 matches in T20 Internationals. As a bowler, he has taken 44 wickets in 55 matches, and in T20 International, he has taken 65 wickets in 55 matches.

Imad Wasim retirement at the age of 34

Imad Wasim made his international debut for Pakistan in T20 against Zimbabwe on 24 May 2015 and after that, he made his ODI debut against Sri Lanka on 19 June 2015. He played his last ODI match for this team against Zimbabwe on November 1, 2020, and he could not play for the team in this format after that.

He continued to be a part of the team in the T20 format and played his last T20 match against New Zealand on 24 April 2023. He was not selected for the ODI World Cup 2023 team.
