Jaiswal had scored 24 runs in that over while hitting fours and sixes. In his half-century innings, Yashasvi hit 2 sixes and 9 fours. According to this, if we look further, out of 53 runs of his innings, he scored 48 runs only from boundaries. Although the batsman is the third Indian after Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul to score a half-century in the powerplay of T20I cricket, his score of 53 runs is the highest score by any Indian batsman in the powerplay.

Third biggest powerplay score for India in T20I cricket

Not only this but thanks to the stormy batting of Yashasvi Jaiswal, the Indian cricket team scored 77 runs in just 6 overs against Australia at the Greenfield International Stadium. This is India’s third-highest score in powerplay in T20 International. Even before this, the Indian team had scored 82 runs for 2 wickets in 6 overs of powerplay against Scotland in 2021.
