In such a situation, Siraj was the leader of Team India’s pace attack. After resting him, Team India will have Jaydev Unadkat, Shardul Thakur, Mukesh Kumar and Umran Malik as well as all-rounder Hardik Pandya as fast bowling options in the West Indies series.

According to ESPN Cricinfo, the BCCI has given rest to Mohammad Siraj from the ODI leg of the West Indies tour given the workload. India has not yet announced his replacement. Team India’s schedule is going to be very busy ahead of the ODI World Cup to be held in India in October. India has to play the Asia Cup from late August to mid-September and a three-match ODI series at home against Australia in September.

Mohammed Siraj took seven wickets in the two-Test series against the West Indies, including a five-for in the first innings on a flat track at Port-of-Spain. Before this tour, Siraj was also a part of the World Test Championship final against Australia at The Oval. In he took five wickets including four wickets in the first innings. He also played a crucial role in IPL 2023 for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
He took 19 wickets in 14 matches. His remarkable performance in IPL was very good in the opening overs in which he bowled at an economy rate of 4.12

When did Mohammad Siraj play the last ODI?

Mohammad Siraj played his last ODI in March 2022 against Australia at home. He took five wickets in the series. He was the highest wicket-taker for India and the second-highest wicket-taker in the series.
Since 2022, Siraj took 43 wickets in ODIs. He is the highest wicket-taker Indian bowler.
