IND vs WI: Former Indian batsman Wasim Jaffer rated Shubman Gill's performance 4 out of 10. Wasim Jaffer has said that Gill can be played anywhere from number 1 to number 5.

IND vs WI: Indian batsman Shubman Gill playing at number 3 in the Test series against West Indies was the most talked about topic. So far, Shubman Gill, who played as an opener in Team India, was fielded at number 3 for the second time. Whereas Gill’s performance was disappointing. Gill was sent at number 3 because Yashasvi Jaiswal got the responsibility of opening with Rohit.

Gill himself asked for the number 3

Shubman Gill himself had also demanded to play at number 3. He talked to coach Rahul Dravid and asked for number 3 for himself. But Gill could not do anything special in three innings of 2 matches of the series. Questions were raised about Gill’s performance and whether he himself had dug a pit for himself.

Gill-Jaffer can play anywhere from 1 to 5

On this question, former Indian batsman Wasim Jaffer has said that it is too early to form an opinion about Gill. Because he has that talent he can be made to bat anywhere from number 1 to number 5. He is a good batsman But unfortunately failed to show his talent at No.3 in West Indies.

Number 3 gives some relief – Jaffer

Wasim Jaffer further said that I am not surprised to see Gill playing at number 3, Because number 3 is a relief position for the batsman as compared to the opener. It is not easy to come to the opening immediately after fielding for a long time.

The opening is not easy after fielding 150 overs

Wasim Jaffer said that the batsman playing at number 3 gets time to see and understand the movement of the pitch. Jaffer said openers sometimes have problems When we field for 150 overs and then walk out to face the new ball within 10 minutes, So number 3 gives some relief.

The series has not been good for Gill – Jaffer

Wasim Jaffer further said that I would give 4 out of 10 to Shubman Gill’s performance against the West Indies. Although this is not a concern at this early stage of his career, overall the Test series was not good for Gill.
