IND vs WI: After the victory in the first ODI, both captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli were not part of the playing 11 for the second ODI. Hardik Pandya became the caretaker captain. Dravid says, "We will always look at the big picture. Playing Rohit and Kohli in such a three-match series does not answer many of our questions."

IND vs WI: The Indian team is doing many experiments in the ODI series against the West Indies. In the first ODI, experiments were done regarding the batting order, while there were changes in the playing eleven in the second match. After the victory in the first ODI, the management rested the other regular captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Hardik Pandya became the stand-in captain and Sanju Samson and Akshar Patel were included in the playing XI. The team had to bear the brunt of these changes and lost the second ODI by six wickets. After the defeat, questions were raised about the decision of the management.

The ICC World Cup is to be played after about two months, due to which the fans did not understand the decision to give rest to the star batsmen of the first team in the ODI format. In the first ODI, both the batsmen Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were part of the lower middle order batting line-up. Rohit Sharma came out to bat at number 7 in the first ODI. Whereas Virat Kohli was going to bat at number 8. After the defeat in the second ODI, Rahul Dravid says that the West Indies series is the only series with the team where they can experiment. Because the team will directly move towards the Asia Cup after this.

This is how we can test players – Rahul Dravid

Rahul Dravid said, ‘To be honest, this is our last chance to test the players. Four of our players are injured at the moment and they are in NCA. Then comes the Asia Cup and the World Cup, we are short on time for many things. And we are hoping that some of the players can play in the Asia Cup and then the World Cup, But we cannot take those chances. We have to try other people and give them chances so that even in the worst case they at least have experience of the game.

Why didn’t Rohit and Virat play

Talking about the absence of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, Rahul Dravid said, ‘It also gives us an opportunity to take some decisions on the players. Dravid says, “We will always look at the bigger picture. Playing Rohit and Kohli in such a three-match series leaves us no answers to many of our questions.” But due to the injuries we have in NCA, we have to give a chance to others. Dravid also said that he does not pay attention to outside opinions, Rather his main focus is to give ample opportunities to young players according to their talent. For the time being, Ishaan has given runs for India. Shubman Gill and Suryakumar Yadav are not looking in that rhythm. According to Dravid, Suryakumar Yadav still has a lot of scope for improvement in the ODI format. The team is continuously providing him with opportunities So that they can leave a mark on their cricket journey. Dravid continued, “I think Ishaan has done very well, He has made the most of his opportunities, That’s what you want from young players.”

experiment failed

The Indian team defeated the West Indies by 5 wickets in the first match. In that match, Rohit Sharma came down to bat at number 7. Rohit also talked about trying the players. But in that match too, while chasing the score of 114, India lost 5 wickets. At the same time, the Indian team had to play 23 overs to score these 114 runs. In India vs West Indies on Saturday, West Indies won the toss and India got the chance to bat first. But even after the opening partnership of 90 runs, the Indian team was reduced to just 181 runs. Team India’s batting failed miserably.

There can be changes in the third ODI as well

There is currently one match left in this series and after Rahul Dravid’s statement, it is being speculated that there may be changes in the next match as well.
