After which Sunrisers Hyderabad released Harry Brook. When Harry Brook came to the IPL 2024 auction, no one would have thought that this player, who had earned Rs 13.25 crore till the first IPL, would be sold for only Rs 4 crore for IPL 2024.
Harry Brook was bought by Delhi Capitals for Rs 4 crore. Harry Brook had kept his base price at Rs 2 crore. When Harry Brook’s name was taken, there was a lot of silence on the auction table, but then Delhi Capitals broke the silence and placed the first bid.
Rajasthan Royals also again jumped into this bidding war. Rajasthan Royals had also shown interest in Harry Brook in the IPL 2023 auction, but then Sunrisers Hyderabad won with a bid of Rs 13.25 crore. Rajasthan Royals participated in this bidding war for Rs 3.8 crores, But then he backed out after Delhi Capitals made a bet of Rs 4 crore.
In this way, Delhi Capitals bought Harry Brook for Rs 4 crore. After the way Harry Brook performed in the last IPL, it was believed that no franchise team would want to spend too much money on him.
The first player to be sold in the IPL 2024 auction was the captain of the Caribbean T20 team. Rovman Powell was purchased by Rajasthan Royals for Rs 7.4 crore. Steve Smith and Riley Rossouw remained unsold in the first round.
