Ravichandran Ashwin told a major shortcoming in the schedule of World Cup 2023

Indian team’s off-spin bowler Ravichandran Ashwin has expressed a major concern regarding the timing of matches in the World Cup 2023. According to the reports, most of the matches will start at 2 pm. Ashwin believes that the timing of the matches should have been kept from 11:30 am or 12 noon. Due to this, the factor of dew would have been removed completely. According to Ashwin, with the start of the match at 2 o’clock, the role of Dew will become very important.

The schedule for the ODI World Cup, which will be hosted in India this year, has been released. The World Cup 2023 will begin on October 5, 2019. The opening match will take place in Ahmedabad, between defending champion England and last time’s runner-up New Zealand. The first semi-final match will be played in Mumbai, the second semi-final in Kolkata and the final on November 19 in Ahmedabad. Most of the matches will be day-night. Every Saturday there will be a doubleheader match and one match will be played from morning on that day.

There should have been a change in the timing of matches – Ravichandran Ashwin

According to Ashwin, the matches should have been started earlier in the day so that the effect of dew was not affected at all. During a conversation on his YouTube channel, he said, “I wanted one thing to happen and that was a change in the timing of the matches. I wanted them to start at 11:30 am or 12 noon so that the dew Factor can be bypassed. This World Cup will be held in October and there is a lot of dew at that time. Normally, the World Cup does not take place at this time. Even in 2011, it was organized before summer. In February It started and ended in the first week of April. After that, we played the IPL as well.”
