BCCI convinced Rohit Sharma to lead team India in T20 World Cup 2024.

Rohit Sharma will lead India in the T20 World Cup 2024, which will bring relief to cricket fans across the country. The 20-team tournament to be held in the West Indies and USA in June next year has created anticipation among cricket fans. A recent report in Dainik Jagran confirms that Rohit Sharma will continue to be India’s captain across all formats, despite the ongoing speculation over his leadership after being dropped from Mumbai Indians on December 15.

Impressively showcasing his leadership skills in the ODI World Cup 2023, Rohit emerged as the top choice for T20 World Cup captaincy.

Amid the uncertainties, a BCCI official clarified that there is no change in Rohit’s captaincy position, and he will remain the preferred choice to lead India in the T20 World Cup. When questioned about the possibility of Hardik Pandya taking over the captaincy, the official dismissed such speculations while emphasizing on Rohit’s current captaincy across all formats.

The official further confirmed that Rohit Sharma will captain India in the next T20 World Cup, even though he has not played a T20I match since last November. He is holding on to the captaincy for the next World Cup, even though Hardik Pandya is equally fit and ready to play.

Despite earlier speculations about Rohit losing the captaincy due to Hardik Pandya’s IPL appointment, it appears that Mumbai Indians’ five-time IPL-winning captain Rohit Sharma will continue to lead the Indian cricket team.
