Sri Lanka Weather Update: The Asia Cup 2023 is being organized in a hybrid model. Matches in Sri Lanka have been affected by rain. Meanwhile, Super-4 matches are to be held in Colombo and it is raining heavily there. India-Pakistan match was washed out in the group stage due to rain. The match between India and Nepal was also affected by rain. Everyone wants to know whether the other Super-4 matches and finals including India-Pakistan will be hit by rain. A big update has come out regarding the weather in Sri Lanka.

A senior official of Sri Lanka’s Meteorological Department has said that the weather is expected to remain clear in the coming days. Meteorological Director General Atulya Karunanayake told PTI TV that the weather would be clear after September 9. India and Pakistan will face off in Colombo on 10 September. On the other hand, Rohit Sharma’s team will play Sri Lanka on 12th September while Bangladesh will face on 15th September. The final will be played on 17 September.

How will the weather be after September 9?

“The southwest region of Sri Lanka receives more rain at this time of the year. In the last two weeks, the western region received more rain, but after September 9, the rain will be less. There may be some rain in the Western Province in the coming week, but by September 17, the day the Asia Cup final will be played, the rain is expected to subside.

India and Pakistan had turned water in Pallikele

The Group B match of the Asia Cup between India and Pakistan at Pallikele on 2 September was abandoned due to rain. Rohit Sharma’s team was dismissed for 266 runs. Pakistan team was unable to bat a single ball due to continuous rain. The match between India and Nepal took place on 4 September. Nepal’s team got all out for 230 runs while batting first. Indian innings were cut short due to rain and a target of 145 was achieved in 23 overs. Team India won the match by 10 wickets.
