Bangladesh Cricket Board on Thursday admitted that their team will have to travel a lot and this travel can affect the team’s performance. This is because the team will have to first travel to Sri Lanka within a few days and then play their league matches in Pakistan. If the team qualifies, Bangladesh will have to go to Pakistan to play one more match.

Four matches are to be held in Pakistan and the remaining 9 including the final will be held in Sri Lanka. Bangladesh team is in Group B. In such a situation, on August 31, when Bangladesh plays its first match against Sri Lanka. So after that, they will have to go to Pakistan for their next match which will be played against Afghanistan on 3rd September.

If the Bangladeshi team qualifies for the Super 4 then once again they will have to go to Pakistan to play their first match. After this, the team will again come to Sri Lanka where the remaining two matches of the Super 4 will be played. In this way, the Bangladesh team will have to face a lot of difficulty in travelling so much in a few days. Speaking to reporters at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Wednesday, BCB’s Cricket Operations Chairman Jalal Yunus said, “We must, indeed, travel to Lahore for the first match.” The first round has two matches, one is in Sri Lanka and the other is in Pakistan. He went on to say, “After the 31st (August), the next match is on the 3rd (September).” To make the travel hassle-free, the Asia Cup officials (ACC) have decided to fly the teams on chartered flights. We will travel in chartered planes. The Asian Cricket Council is in charge of its responsibility. Of course, we would like to travel with quality airlines, If it is a national airline or a chartered plane, it will certainly be good for all.”

Regarding this whole journey, he said, “If you travel then definitely it will make an impact I think, because when you travel by air you have to go two hours in advance and carry your luggage and preparing all these things is mentally stressful. Pakistan is far away from Sri Lanka. So nothing to be done, since it is the decision of ACC, everyone is playing like this. We have to accept it too.”
