Asia Cup: ACC has currently put on hold the plan to shift the Super 4 round matches to Hambantota and has asked to work on efforts to hold the matches in Colombo itself.

So far, rain has shown its impact on the Asia Cup matches in Sri Lanka. While the high-voltage match between India and Pakistan was lost to rain, rain also disrupted India’s second match. After two matches were affected by rain, there was talk of holding the Super 4 round matches somewhere else in Sri Lanka, but the Asian Cricket Council has currently put this plan on hold. According to the report of Cricbuzz, the remaining matches of the Asia Cup in Sri Lanka will be held in Colombo only.

Super 4 round matches will be held in Colombo only

According to the report, ACC has currently put on hold the plan to shift the Super 4 round matches to Hambantota and has asked to work on efforts to hold the matches in Colombo itself. It is being said that ACC has asked the Sri Lanka Cricket Board to try to hold the Super 4 round matches in Colombo itself. ACC has said that there will be no change in the venue of the Super 4 round and the final match.
All matches will be played at the pre-determined venue only.

There is a flood situation in Colombo

According to a Cricbuzz report, the organizers are planning to see if the Super 4 round of the tournament can be held in Colombo which is currently facing torrential rains. There is a flood situation in Colombo at present. In view of such a situation, it was said that the remaining matches of the Asia Cup can be organized in Hambantota.

Jai Shah replied to Pakistan on Asia Cup matches

The Cricbuzz report said that till Tuesday, the ACC had no idea to shift the remaining matches of the Asia Cup. ACC chief Jay Shah replied to the PCB that the matches would not be shifted. Let us tell you that the current PCB chairman Zaka Ashraf had also recommended shifting the remaining matches of Asia Cup 2023 from Sri Lanka to Pakistan reportedly due to weather conditions.
