And are finalizing the preparations to perform strongly in the test series. On Sunday, Kohli joined the team and was once again seen taking batting practice.

Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Jasprit Bumrah were not available for selection for the ODI and T20 series. Virat Kohli, the leading run-scorer in the recently concluded ODI World Cup, joined the Indian Test team last week. The first Test match between India and South Africa will be played on Tuesday.

In a video shared on X, Virat Kohli is seen batting in the nets. In the video going viral on social media, it can be seen that Virat Kohli is enjoying batting a lot during the practice session. Virat Kohli did not participate in the three-day squad match. Virat Kohli did not play a Test match against South Africa last time due to a back injury. Virat Kohli will play his 112th Test match on Thursday.

Kohli has scored 8676 runs in 111 test matches. He has 29 half-centuries and 29 centuries to his name in this format. Kohli will be available for selection in the first Test, while Ishan Kishan and fast bowler Mohammed Shami are not part of the two-match Test series.

Along with Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma was also rested in the limited-overs series against South Africa. Now both these players will look to bat well in the test series against South Africa. The T-20 series was captained by Suryakumar Yadav for the Indian team, while the captaincy of the ODI team was given to KL Rahul.

Now it remains to be seen who wins the test series. The Indian team is in very good form at the moment, and it is not going to be easy for anyone to defeat South Africa on their home ground in Test cricket. South African veteran batsman Dean Elgar will retire from international Test cricket after this Test series.
