Former Indian cricketer Ajay Jadeja has recently given a big statement taunting all-rounder Hardik Pandya. Jadeja says that Hardik is a rare talent and he is rarely seen on the field. This statement of Jadeja came when during a conversation on Sportstak, the issue of making Hardik Pandya the future captain of Team India was being discussed.
Hardik Pandya took charge of the T20 team ahead of the ODI World Cup 2023 in the absence of Rohit Sharma. He was being seen as the future captain of the T20 team, but he is now out of the team due to an injury suffered in the World Cup 2023.
Ajay Jadeja said sarcastically about Hardik Pandya, ‘You did not understand the meaning.’ He is a rare talent and is rarely seen on the ground. He is very rare and rightly so.
Hardik Pandya has been struggling with injuries for some time. The all-rounder made a comeback in IPL 2022 last year after a long break due to a back injury, although even at that time he was not fully fit, due to which he was not able to give his 100 percent on the field. Hardik came into the team but due to not bowling, he was not able to play the role of all-rounder.
This year he worked on his bowling and was ready to play an important role for the team in the World Cup 2023. However, unfortunately, he suffered an ankle injury in the fourth match against Bangladesh due to which he was ruled out of the entire tournament.
At that time, it was expected that Hardik could make a comeback in the knockout stage, but he could not recover from that injury in time.
However, right after the World Cup 2023, when India was to have a 5-match T20 series against Australia, it still seemed that he would make a comeback in that series. But then it came to light that he was not only out of the home series against Australia but also the South Africa tour.
In his absence, Suryakumar Yadav has taken charge of the Indian T20 team and also won the series against Australia 4-1. Now the next test of Suryakumar Yadav’s captaincy will be in the three-match T20 series against South Africa starting from December 10.
It is being speculated that he will hardly be seen playing in the India vs Afghanistan T20 home series to be held in January.
