Virat Kohli has been awarded the Fielder of the Series, and India's fielding coach T Dileep praised the effort of Rinku Singh and Virat Kohli during the T20 series against Afghanistan.

IND vs AFG T20: The Indian team defeated Afghanistan in the second super-over played during the third match on Wednesday and secured the T20I series 3–0. Shivam Dube was adjudged Player of the Series, while Rohit Sharma got the Player of the Match for his century. Virat Kohli has also received the award for excellent fielding on the ground, which was given to him by Team India’s fielding coach T Dilip in the dressing room.

He had a competition with Rinku Singh for this award, but the coach gave him a medal by saying that he not only fields but also inspires others to do well.

Since last year, the best fielder award has been given in the dressing room after every match of Team India. The player who fields best in the match or series is given the medal by Team India’s fielding coach T Dilip.

After the end of the last T20 match against Afghanistan, fielding coach T Dileep praised Rinku Singh and Virat Kohli and selected them for the Best Fielder Award. Fielding coach T Dileep said, “For this entire series, I am picking two people for the award. I have chosen Rinku. You’ve done wonderfully.”

He further said, “This player has once again and consistently excellence well. Deciding whether to go ahead or not, the way he is saving runs by diving and you can’t take your eyes off him and it’s none other than Virat Kohli. Before announcing the winner, I want to say that Virat wants to field in fine leg or short instead of fielding in the slips in the World Cup and he not only does his job but he inspires others.
I would like the young players to do half of them and the team will look completely different.
And today’s winner is Virat Kohli.”
